Description
This started as a 1932 Ford 3-Window Coupe and was built by Japanese-American Larry Shinoda in 1953 as a Drag Strip/Dry Lakes coupe.
Larry was working for Weiand Power and Racing Equipment and studying at the Art Center School in Los Angeles when he built this. Note how the Ford Flathead is placed far back on the chassis for hard launches at the strip.
Shinoda raced this car for only one season where he got speeds of up to 125 MPH on the drag strip and 138 MPH on El Mirage Dry lake.
Just to see who reads my copy and just for fun, I'll at least give a cheer and thumbs up to the first person who knows what Larry Shinoda's really known for.
