The last one in existence, they're still getting it back together. You can see the engines in the back, it still needs its "cat's whiskers" in the nose and wings to be spiffed up and attached as well as the props to be restored.
The night fighter camoflauge is specatcular and noteworthy.
The HE-219 was a very advanced night fighter and quite successful, though a bit under-engined and a bit over-sophisticated. It had a lot of armament under and above the fuselage, and ejection seats as well. The cannon on this plane could easily knock down a Lancaster. There were isntances of pilots shooting down several British bombers in one night with these planes.
Hopefully, they'll get the rest of this marvelous plane back together. It's BIG, as if yah can't tell by the pic.

I have already built one Revell 1/32 scale kit of this monster.... planning to build the other, if I survive building my Junkers Ju 88 A-1 first (converting her to a C-2...or a C-6)
