Northrop P-61 Black Widow by Aya-Wavedancer Northrop P-61 Black Widow by Aya-Wavedancer
This is the P-61 at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, PA, which is currently undergoing a wheel up total restoration and rebuild after being recovered from a hillside in New Guinea, I do believe. :)

I thought I could stump the panel. Not at all!

:iconblyddyn: was first, :iconintermodal: got the location, and my normal panel, :iconroddy1990: , :icondingopatagonico: , and :iconelectricfox5: were in superb form and got it easily!

I thought the lack of black paint, the lack of the top turret, and the lack of the fairing under the cannon would cause some difficulty. The shape of the cockpit is very unique, but didn't stump the panel. Excellent! :D :D :D

My grandfather was in the air corps in new guinea and saw these things, I bet at one time he may have seen this very plane.

The crash happened near the base. He may have seen the actual incident. It was evidently pretty notorious.

If he was there during that period, he has to know the story. :)

Cool, Thanks. I'll have to ask him about it sometime.

Great! Tell me if he knew! I'm sure he'd like to know the plane is being rebuilt if he was there. :D

I wonder if there are any remote control flying wing model airplanes! I build a few planes when I was a kid. Balsa and paper types. One had a motor.
