1914 Renault EF Victoria, Locke

The sloped nose is typical or Renault in this period and makes them instantly recognizable. The radiator is behind the engine. Also, the car is shaft-driven in contrast to most cars of the period using chain drive.

Renault wasn't building bodies in 1914, so the 3,000 USD (A fortune in that period) bare chassis was shipped to the US where Locke provided the Victoria Coachwork. The car was delivered for the use of a lady of means in Newport, Rhode Island. The young lady was a serious auto enthusiast and was one of the first women drivers in New England. The car was stored from 1922 to 1965, then eventually restored to its present condition.
